In celebration of Halloween and the Beaux-Arts ball tradition, the RAIC is holding an Architectural Hat Competition as part of the tradeshow at the 2019 Festival of Architecture

Here’s how it works. Delegates visit the tradeshow and collect materials from exhibitor booths. They enter the competition and assemble their unique creations at the Festival of Architecture Hat Shop on the tradeshow floor between October 27 and 28.

Participants will be asked to wear their attention-getting headpieces at the President’s Dinner and Awards Gala on October 28 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The hats will be judged for a chance to win one of three prizes.

Exhibitors who wish to take part will be asked to have materials at their booths that delegates can collect and use to concoct their caps in any style, shape, or size.

Supplies can include:

• Material samples

• Product/material scraps

• Dollar store items (e.g. cloth, ribbon, adhesives, wire, elastic)

• Promotional material

→ Pamphlets
→ Booklets
→ Pins
→ Buttons
→ Pencils
