The RAIC International Prize is a unique recognition for architecture that is transformative and that expresses values of humanism and democracy. The award of $100,000 was created in 2013 by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and its Foundation together with Raymond Moriyama, one of Canada’s most notable architects, reflecting his commitment to architecture with social relevance. In addition, three RAIC International Prize Scholarships will be awarded to students attending Canadian architecture programs. This will be the third time that the biennial prize is awarded to either a Canadian or international architect. Join us for an exciting Gala as the winner is unveiled.

The RAIC is presenting the matchmaking event together with the Danish Association of Architectural Firms and the Danish Trade Council in Toronto.

The RAIC College of Fellows Convocation and Syllabus Convocation will be held at the Royal Conservatory of Music, where the College of Fellows will formally recognize RAIC members and distinguished laypersons who have made outstanding contributions to the profession.The ceremony also recognizes graduates of the RAIC Syllabus Program.

The College of Fellows will also recognize and celebrate the induction of Vishaan Chakrabarti, FAIA, Ivenue Love-Stanley, FAIA, Elizabeth Chu Richter, FAIA and Denise Scott Brown, FAIA (in absentia) as Honourary Fellows of the RAIC.

A cocktail reception will follow in the lobby of Koerner Hall.

The RAIC Foundation will be hosting a silent auction at the 2019 RAIC Festival in Toronto, with winners announced during the Foundation’s Fundraising Lunch on Wednesday, October 30, 2019. The donated items for auction will be on display at the RAIC booth in the Trade Show from October 28 to 30 at the RAIC Festival.

We are asking members, firms, suppliers, organizations, and community businesses to help support our scholarships and bursaries by donating items to the auction.
